Let me clarify something. I need to mortify this skin! We all do!
You may have noticed (on social media) a subtle venting on my behalf over an unexpected circumstance that occurred a month ago, and has overtaken me, and has affected my household, of which I am responsible for. As you might expect, I’m not a happy camper. But, I have relied on the Ruach Hakodesh (Holy Spirit) to keep me within Spiritual bounds.
No, you are not alone as we men and women of Elohim (God) have tribulation, just as Yeshua (Jesus) promised in John 16:33. We constantly have to remind ourselves “Whose” we are (or at least I do), and trust Romans 8:28.
I still however find it very interesting how some people proclaim that they love God, go to church every Sunday, hold offices and make decisions that are not scriptural, that affect their neighbor’s livelihood, without remorse or thought of the consequences of their actions, even if their decisions are based on a false representation with no evidence of truth, and conduct an unjust court in God’s house. It becomes even more interesting, moreover surprising when this happens to me. It is one thing to preach about it, but a whole different thing to experience it. But when the Spiritual moving van backs up to your comfort zone, loads you and yours up without any warning, and carts you off, then you realize you have overstayed your welcome. Even though I understand that the situation is just a vehicle for God to get me going on to the next part of His plan for my life, it still hurts because I’m looking with my natural eyes, not spiritual eyes, meaning I’m not walking by faith. It still hurts because we love people and we didn’t do anything that we were not asked to do. It hurts because in spite of it, I love you all and I forgive you!
With all the Spiritual information available today, with all the media opportunities to listen and view Spiritual programs, with more worship houses than education centers open in our communities, and with all these Apostles, Prophets, Evangelist, Preachers, and Teachers delivering the Word of God, you would think that Believers, the Church of God, the Body of Christ, Christians, and/or Church Folk would be compelled to do as the Word of God teaches. But so often this is not the case. Sometimes exercising denominationalist principles is more important and prevalent and comfortable than enforcing those of the Kingdom. I also understand that it is not flesh and blood (people) that I am wrestling with. Ephesians 6:12-13 A demonic presence is responsible for these shenanigans, and must be dealt with appropriately.
As I write the post, more scriptural references to this concern of mine are brought to my remembrance. The Apostle Paul writes in Romans 8:5-9 (NLT),
5 Those who are dominated by the sinful nature think about sinful things, but those who are controlled by the Holy Spirit think about things that please the Spirit. 6 So letting your sinful nature control your mind leads to death. But letting the Spirit control your mind leads to life and peace. 7 For the sinful nature is always hostile to God. It never did obey God’s laws, and it never will. 8 That’s why those who are still under the control of their sinful nature can never please God. 9 But you are not controlled by your sinful nature. You are controlled by the Spirit if you have the Spirit of God living in you. (And remember that those who do not have the Spirit of Christ living in them do not belong to him at all.)
Now, if we indeed serve the same ‘El Tsaddik, the Righteous God, and we have put on Christ, (Romans 13:14; Galatians 3:27), why would there be this separation, discord, friction, division, negativity, or disagreement between us? Whose agenda are we following? The Good Shepherd of the flock, the Under-shepherd of the Good Shepherd over the flock, or do the sheep have their own agenda?
Now, I understand most clearly what Adonai meant in John 8:44 (NLT) when He told the unbelieving Jews that wanted to kill Him,“For you are the children of your father the devil, and you love to do the evil things he does. He was a murderer from the beginning. He has always hated the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, it is consistent with his character; for he is a liar and the Father of lies.”
If you believe the lie, that is told by the one who is lying, then you have been deceived by the father of lies, the devil. Consequently, if your spirit does not discern the truth when the truth is spoken, then whose spirit abides in you? (verse 8 above) The truth should convict even more in the Kingdom of God, than it does in the criminal justice system.
In John 8:31-32 (KJV), Jesus says, “. . . If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”And in John 14:6a (KJV), “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life:”
Three words come to mind – “Steal, kill, and destroy” – another attribute of that “thief.”
Several other passages of scripture come to mind:
Matthew 22:36-40 (KJV)
36 Master, which is the great commandment in the law?
37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
38 This is the first and great commandment.
39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.
Obviously, this past situation has shown that someone has not received the Word above and does not have high regard for “thyself” in verse 39. Which also reminds me of Luke 6:31 (NLT) “Do to others as you would like them to do to you.”And Galatians 6:7 (NLT), “Don’t be misled—you cannot mock the justice of God. You will always harvest what you plant.”
Matthew 5:43-45a (KJV)
43 Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy.
44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;
45 That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven:
Love ‘em, bless ‘em, do good to ‘em, and pray for ‘em, “That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven:”
That is the commandment; that is the directive; these are the orders from Headquarters. If this was a branch the United States Armed Forces, and the Sergeant gave these orders to his company of soldiers, there would not be an argument or any hesitation to carry them out. Those men and women would be highly motivated to complete the task at hand. But will the Believers, the Church of God, the Body of Christ, Christians, and/or Church Folk be so motivated and enthused to carry out Gods commandments?
John 13:34 (NLT) So now I am giving you a new commandment: Love each other. Just as I have loved you, you should love each other.
This love, or agapáō does not mean sometime love or love you when you are good to me only, or when I need something or you need something from me. It means (1) the love which led Christ, in procuring human salvation, to undergo sufferings and death, and (2) it involves the idea of affectionate reverence, prompt obedience, grateful recognition of benefits received. (for a more detailed definition, see Strong’s G25)
That’s what we are to display towards each other. “By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.” (John 13:35 KJV) That Spiritual Love that reflects Our Father Elohim.
Not that agenda love! That kind of love is temporary, destructive, divisive, and few other terms that can be found under Works of the Flesh.
I really had to fight back the urges of the flesh to lash out and name names and point fingers, but ultimately, I came to the realization that that would have not been appropriate of who I have been called to be. I heard the Voice of the Ruach Hakodesh (Holy Spirit) saying this is an opportunity to teach the truth. Let them that have an ear (a spiritual ear), hear . . . !
